Before vampire movies were focused on the teen population they used to be cool. If you can remember this you will remember movies such as Blade starring Wesley Snipes. If you can remember these awesome movies and want a vampire fancy dress why not choose something really cool like a Blade costume.
Blade Costume – Blade
When it comes to vampire costumes you really could not make a cooler costume than a Blade costume. A Blade costume may look like it would be difficult to make yourself but, with the correct clothing, it is much easier than it looks. Here is a complete list of everything you will need to make your own homemade Blade costume.
Blade Trench Coat

Starting with the jacket or coat you will need a to pay particular attention here.
Ideally you should be looking for a long, black leather trench coat. It is actually possible to buy perfect replicas of the trench coat worn by Wesley Snipes in the Blade movie. |
Blade Pants

Like the trench coat the pants you will need for your Blade costume have quite a specific styling.
Here we would recommend using a pair of black tactical style pants which can be found and bought quite cheaply. |
Blade Padded Vest

Here you will need to find either a body armour vest or a padded vest for your Blade costume.
We would recommend that you buy and wear a black padded vest for this part of your Blade costume. |
Blade Boots

Keeping with the color and style of the clothing you already have you will need a pair of boots.
What we would recommend here is a pair of black military or tactical style boots. |
Blade Gloves

You have several choices when it comes to the gloves you will need for your Blade costume.
You could use a pair of black tactical style gloves but we would recommend a simple pair of black leather driving gloves as they look more like what is seen in the movie. |
Blade Tactical Belt

If you look closely at the waist of Wesley Snipes in this movie you can see that he wears a black belt.
For you to replicate this for your Blade costume we would recommend the use of a simple black tactical belt. |
Blade Tactical Leg Strap

You will also need a black tactical leg strap which will go around your left thigh.
This tactical leg stripe will be used to store the aluminium stakes that you will need. |
Blade Stakes

You will probably find it difficult to find metal vampire stakes for your Blade costume.
As an alternative we would advise using metal stakes which are used for tents.
These stakes should be held to your leg with the tactical leg strap mentioned above. |
Blade Sunglasses

A pair of sunglasses will be needed for your Blade costume if you want it to look really awesome.
Here we would recommend that you use pair of sports sunglasses with black frames and black lenses. |
Blade Sword and Scabbard

The final item you will need to complete your Blade costume is a sword. You will also need a scabbard which will go on your back and be a place to store the sword.
We would never advise the use of a real sword. Instead we would recommend you use a cosplay or costume prop style sword. |
