There are several versions of the Terminator costume that you can make yourself depending on which Terminator movie you base your costume on. This particular Terminator costume is based on the T-800 from the original movie, The Terminator.
Terminator Costume – The Terminator
This T-800 costume is probably the most unique of all. Rather than a leather jacket and pants Arnold Schwarzenegger wears a canvas jacket and pants. Here is everything you will need to make your own Terminator costume based on the original movie. Complete with red eye and damaged arm. Muscles are not included.
Terminator Jacket

Rather than a leather jacket that we always associate with the T-800 you will need a canvas jacket.
This jacket should be light grey and have epaulettes on the shoulders. |
Terminator T-Shirt
 |
The t-shirt worn by the T-800 is black with a pattern on the front.
Here, the easiest thing to do would be to wear a simple black t-shirt. |
Terminator Pants
 |
A pair of grey canvas pants will be needed for your Terminator costume.
The best thing here is to wear a pair of grey tactical pants or a pair of grey work pants. |
Terminator Boots
 |
You will need a pair of boots for your T-800 costume.
These should be black biker style boots with a buckle over the ankle. You should wear them with your pants tucked into the boots. |
Terminator Chain
 |
You will need a decorative chain worn around your left shoulder and arm for your Terminator costume.
This can easily be replicated using a chain from a DIY store or a long chain keyring. |
Terminator Gloves
 |
On your hands you will need to wear a pair of gloves for your Terminator costume.
In the movie the T-800 wears a pair of black fingerless gloves. |
Terminator Sunglasses
 |
As with any Terminator costume you will need a pair of sunglasses.
These sunglasses should have dark lenses and have an 80’s style to them. |
Terminator Red Eye

If you wish to replicate the red eye for your T-800 costume you can do this by adding a red dot to the left eye lens of your sunglasses.
This can easily be done with a red permanent marker pen. |
Terminator Damaged Arm

Replicating the damaged arm of the T-800 is easier than you may think.
You can use a temporary tattoo that looks like a T-800 arm or wrap your arm in a bandage. Then you can add fake blood to the tattoo or bandage to make it look really awesome |
Terminator Gun
 |
The final item you will need for your Terminator costume is a gun.
Here we would advise the use of a toy or an airsoft gun rather than a real gun. Ideally you should look for a semi automatic style weapon. |
