For most incarnations of the Terminator a motorcycle style leather jacket would be appropriate.

For the Terminator: Genisys movie you should choose a leather jacket that has a hoodie style liner with combined hood.

The pants that the T-800 Terminator wears do indeed vary between the Terminator movies.

The most common of pants worn by the T-800 and the ones we recommend would be a pair of black leather motorcycle pants.

Black leather motorcycle pants are the style of pants that the T-800 Terminator is seen wearing in a large bulk of the scenes in the Terminator Genisys movie.

Regardless of which Terminator movie you are watching the T-800 Terminator always appears to be wearing a t-shirt.

The color of t-shirts worn by the T-800 Terminator always appear to be a dark gray in color and styled to not be to tight and not to baggy.

The t-shirt for your Terminator costume is one of the easiest items of clothing to get correct.

Since the T-800 Terminator appears to often take his clothing from guys who ride motorcycles it is hardly surprising that he is most often seen wearing black motorcycle boots.

For your Terminator costume you do not have to wear heavy duty motorcycle boots as such but black boots preferably with a buckle would look awesome and go a long way to making your costume look authentic.

The Terminator Sunglasses

Terminator Costume - Terminator Leather Sunglasses

The T-800 Terminator’s sunglasses are as iconic as the character itself.

While the exact make and model of sunglasses that the T-800 Terminator does change from movie to movie there is no hard and fast rule when it comes to choosing the correct pair. You do not even have to buy a branded pair of sunglasses.

Whichever pair of sunglasses you choose you can add a red dot to one of the lenses to replicate the Terminator’s infrared eye.

The Terminator Gun

To complete your T-800 Terminator costume you will need a gun and we would recommend using a shotgun.

For this part of the costume we would obviously not recommend using a real shotgun.

Instead we would recommend using either a reasonably realistic toy gun or even an airsoft gun. All of which can be bought quite cheaply and add that final finishing touch to your costume.
